Boomtz Boom, otherwise also known as Ortega, is a DJ and electronic music producer from Taboão da Serra, Brazil, born on July 2nd, 1984. His passion for dance music ignited at the age of nine, in 1993; eventually leading him to pursue a DJ career in 2006.
By 2012, after gaining recognition in São Paulo’s vibrant club scene, Boomtz Boom became part of the Smile Collective, where he further immersed himself in the culture of club music. In 2016, he transitioned into music production, blending genres like Breaks, Electro, House, and Acid, while drawing on influences from Latin, Jazz, Funk, and Disco.
Boomtz Boom has since performed at renowned festivals and venues, including Electric Picnic, Wigwam, and Skol Beats Factory, sharing the stage with several of his musical idols.
His production milestones include the 2017 album Diggin’ For Beats Batuque, a collaboration with Beat Maker Rasec, as well as three EPs released between 2021 and 2023. Among these, Tropic Lines with Bunny Kawaii stands out, and Bunny Kawaii invited him to run Canario Records in 2024. Under his Boomtz

He is known for his masterful vinyl mixes, where he fuses the deep, resonant rhythms of 808 and 909 beats with brooding basslines and intricate arpeggios. His seamless transitions create an immersive experience, guiding listeners through a sonic journey filled with tension and energy. The analog warmth of vinyl enhances the raw texture of the sound, while the dark, moody
basslines intertwine with melodic arpeggios, giving his mixes a distinctive, captivating edge.
